Extra Prescription Drug Help (LIS)
Extra Help with Prescription Drugs is a Federal plan available to help Medicare beneficiaries with prescription drug plan premiums, deductibles, and prescriptions.
- In 2022 prescriptions should cost no more than $3.95 for generic and $9.85 for brand-name prescriptions.
- If you qualify for QMB or SLMB you automatically qualify for “Extra Help” with prescription drugs.
- In 2022, you may qualify if you have up to $20,385 in yearly income ($27.465 for a married couple) and up to $15,510 in resources ($30,950 for a married couple)
- Some pharmaceutical companies offer assistance programs for the drugs they manufacture.
